WASHINGTON (SBG) — Ben & Jerry's is launching a new flavor of ice cream. Quite literally! They sent it flying into the stratosphere.
The ice cream makers carried the new, limited edition pint, called "Boots on the Moooo'n," up, up and up on a balloon — 20 miles into the stratosphere.
The out-of-this-world flavor was developed for "Space Force," a Netflix comedy series coming out Friday. In the show, the Space Force is challenged to put boots on the ground on the moon. That's where the sweet treat's name comes from.
"While Space Force works to get boots (back) on the moon, this cosmic concoction will launch your dreams into orbit. With fudgy astronaut cows & toffee meteors, space couldn't be any sweeter. Unless the moon was made out of sugar cookie dough. Which for this limited-time flavor, it actually is!,"said Ben & Jerry's description of the ice cream.
You can find the flavor in stores or at participating Ben & Jerry's locations over the next few months. They're reopening across the U.S. after the coronavirus pandemic forced them to close.
